Job Search Direction

The Key To Finding Job Search Direction

“When the Spirit of truth comes,
he will guide you into all the truth,
for he will not speak on his own authority,
but whatever he hears he will speak,
and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
John 16:13

KeyToJobSearchDirection-JobSearchingCoachThe Holy Spirit resides in you as a child of God and wants to provide direction. But how does He do that? How does He guide? What is the key?

As we see in this verse, the primary approach the Holy Spirit uses is what Christ has taught us 21st century believers, that means the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit will bring to mind, provide insight, guidance and application of specific texts to your unique situation.

That means you better be spending your time having a healthy diet intake of the Scriptures.

  • Reading
  • Listening
  • Studying
  • Memorizing
  • Meditating…

These should all be part of your diet.

Finding answers…

Even in your job search, you will have questions where you want the Holy Spirit’s input. In most cases you will not receive a “Yes, do this” or a “No, don’t do that” type of response. What you will receive is an amalgamation of Scriptures that help you develop a principle on how to answer your question.

The Scriptures are the Holy Spirit’s primary tool, but He will also use conscience, circumstance, counsel, and prayer in confirmation with the Scriptures to get His message across.

Listen with your heart.

ListenForAnswersWithHeart-JobSearchingCoachJot down what you think you are hearing. But don’t run right out and make a decision based on what you are hearing. Ask others what they think about what you heard in relation to your question and your anticipated action. They will help you get clarity.

The Holy Spirit will never ever guide in opposition to what the Scriptures say.  So if that is what you think you are hearing, listen closer yet. You’re must be missing something. Then use filter others to filter it through as well.

The Holy Spirit wants to guide.  All you need to do is learn how to listen.

Dear Holy Spirit, in your mercy and compassion melt my hardness.  Open the ear of my heart that I may hear the guidance you want to provide.
