Why Should You Be Patient In Your Job Search?
“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.”
Psalm 107:2
Are you having trouble being patient during your job search journey or during a time when you are feeling under employed? Is there a plan or a reason for all of this? When and how will your frustration end?
God has been telling His story since the beginning of time. He first told it in Creation. He then told it in the Old Testament through the lives of the people of Israel. Then He sent a new chapter to His story when He sent His Son as a demonstration of His grace, mercy, love, and deliverance. He continued His story right on through the book of Acts and the establishment of His church.
He is still telling His story today through the lives of people claiming the name of Christ. He tells it as He weaves your story together to tell His story. His story in you is a story of grace, mercy, love and deliverance, just as it was in times past.
How does your job search fit in?
His story in you is a story of skills, abilities, and talents honed through practical experience in the church and on the job. It’s a story that provides proof that He equips His people as part of His adventure to contribute to building His kingdom.
His story in you is a story of deliverance from habits, addictions, attitudes, and behaviors that did not display Christ-likeness. It is also a story of deliverance from vocational under-employment and unemployment to a position of fulfillment and use of all He has gifted you with.
Even now in your job search, He is telling His story. As He did through Joseph’s imprisonment, so He is doing through your vocational imprisonment. He is working even now, and His adventure for you includes this time that challenges you to rely on Him more. Joseph did. You can, too.
Be open to your story…
Keep alert to what He may be doing. Watch for things that have no other explanation but God.
